Even before I knew Him, He knew me, and went before me in many things.

Poem Artwork

I've been betrayed by the best, the ones I loved the most, the ones who just, wouldn't see,
that my Father tells me, where and what, to be.
They'll tell you, that up to thirty three, I was some, great, kinda guy,

my dreams, I turned, to reality, had my own

piece of the sky.

They forget the things that it took, but then, they got to, stand by,

while I manipulated everything,

a master at the lie.

When you tell them, what they want to hear, they don't,
consider it untrue

But even in my unbelief, it was a very hard thing, to continually,

have to, do.

He's always had my heart, right from my mother's womb,

He bought it when He rose, after lying, dead, 3 days, in a tomb.
He came to me in a mighty way, at a mighty time in my life

To show me, that all of my riches, would amount to nothing more
than grief, greed, and strife.
He always chooses the most unlikely candidates, to speak the truth,

against the lie
It takes one to know one must be more true , than I knew, and having been there done that
must rate, quite high
Cause my only, qualification, is to have known, beforehand, that,  all mankind, incuding your's truly,

has, a deceitfully wicked heart.

I've since, come to learn, it's the place,

we all, have to, start.
If you wonder why, the times you've believed, most of the, right things,

came, to, no apparent, avail
His promises say different, they

say: you cannot, fail

So why is nothing different, is it all, afterall,

a simple fairy tale?

Look up the word, contrition, and you will get a clue,

as what your posture has to be, in order that He can bring you to Him,

so, your salvation, can, and will.

immediately, ensue

Without the "Being Broken" another way to say, contrition; it's fessin-up,

and knowin, true

That, left to your own devices, you'll figure out all the wrong, answers,

and pick all the wrong things, to embrace,

and then, do

The word does not get less important, in, not one, step of the way.

You must be broken  every morning, for all the misdeeds and thoughts,

of just, yesterday

Admitting you are wrong, must be a prayer, that you say
For transparency is His call, to His own, from day one,

'til today.

It leaves you never looking back, as there's nothing.

there to see

You showed it all, at the time, so, FOR: further analysis and argument,

there, is, just, no room, and really,

no need.

There's plenty to be done, for the Kingdom is at hand, we must be listening

when He speaks, confirming with his Word and interacting with,

each other;

not relying on what we think we know, or letting, that, sneaky, self guy, or gal,

be in charge, and the,
Holy Spirit, smother.
So just stay at that place of not needing,
to be right,

but rather living in His Word, praying fervently, choosing His way,

over our way, living in Truth, and, reflecting His, life giving, Light.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those that are called according to His purpose. For whom he foreknew, He also predestined, to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first born of many brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also, called, and whom He called, these He also justified, and whom He justified, these He also glorified."

Romans 8:28-30

As I read this I'm reminded of Psalms...better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man...what you have written speaks volume of the wisdom of God...he chose you ON purpose to write these words...and the wisdom in His grace to carry this out..thank you so much for this revelation...as I lift up my soul before the Lord giving thanks in peaceful humbleness I praise his awesome name and the gift that He gave you....

Wonderfully written, Art. You touched on what the reflection in the mirror reveals of a contrite spirit, in a person, and the essence of a broken spirit to repent, daily, for we all fall short of the glory of God. Remaining transparent in my Beloved~~~~ LoveyaWayMore, Jan
External religiosity, without a change of attitude in the inner spirit, falls short of true repentance.
The sacarifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart. Psalm 51:17
Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist, Says the Lord. But on this one will I look. On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word. Isaiah 66:1-2
God's plan is to live in human beings and not in man-made temples. These verses again denounce all religious ritualism that is not accompanied with reverence, justice and sincerity.
