For Shane

You are gone

So they say

But I was told a different story

I was shown

By the way

And caught up into glory.

We stood together on a rainbow

I held your hand in mine

I heard you whisper  low

'Don't worry mother, I am fine

I've found shelter in God's arms

He has forgiven much

He has kept me from all harm

So gentle is his touch

And Mom, He's so unlike what the world is seeing

Through distorted mind

I've never known such kinder being

Nor greater love for mankind.'

Then suddenly you faded

I tried to follow you

Throughout strange worlds I waded

Throughout universes flew

Then I became uncertain

At the universes end

Where I bounced against a curtain

Of which I could not enter in

Beneath the hemline a soft glow

Edged in sparkling light

Whiter than a Christmas snow

Falling throught the night.

God threw back the veil

I saw you on the other side

Alive and doing well

As if you had never died.



And, I wrapped inside a funnel

Of gently falling snow

Proceeded downward through a tunnel

Back to the world I know.

 

 Later I came to know that the snow

was stars the stars of my starry passing
