This one is about the called shot by Babe Ruth at Yankees stadium.
The runs come in, The hitter posed, Ready for the pitch, The swing, The hit,
Flies to the outfield, Can't be caught, Over the wall,
The shot was called, The runs scored, A victory everlasting,
Memories engraved, History made, On that faithful day, The runs came in.

This puts you right there, popcorn and peanuts and crackerjacks, lol-loved the descriptions in this that are not so heavy as to weigh down the poem, but distinct enough in word choice to bring the scene alive for the reader.
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
