The Corners of My Mind

THIRTEENS, ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT THEM :-)

I was so country
and barefoot as a child.
Not because of choice,
my feet were so big
Stores did'nt sell
children shoes for a future
 size 12 or 13 woman.

I walked on stinkweed
grasshoppers, sandspurs
and all such.  A snake
slithered under my arch
one day. That's the day I looked
to God and began to pray.

I'm getting to be a big girl now
I don't know what is ahead
of me. Lord fix my feet so I
will grow to be who you want me
to be.  Granny said I need big
feet to do your will.  Well here
am I, Lord, here am I.

I can not wait to take off
my shoes at Father's door and
step onto the floor of the place
 He has prepared for me
to live forever more.

I liked this poem. - Morgan ( my daughter has wide feet.....she was always barefoot when she was litle. Not so much now.)
