This is the second poem in my series of (6) emotionally charged poems-- trying to get over and move on if life is not always an easy thing to do, but sometimes writing one's emotions and feelings down on paper helps us see things in a better light. This poem is dedicated to all those that have ever lost in love and had to move on...
The tears I've been crying
The lies I've been lying to myself
The loneliness, the sorrow
I've been hiding on the shelf
The starless nights and sunless days
The rain that seems to stay and stay
Since you been gone
I often wonder who was right
And who was wrong
The endless nights of loneliness
I can't seem to find any rest
Since you been gone
I've searched and I've searched
But I can't find any kind of peace of mind
Since you been gone
Maybe someday you'll return to me
So my lonely heart can be set free
Honey please come home
I'm so alone since you been gone ...
Rejection of love and loss by death are two different things. We can always hope for lost love to come back, but will it work out? Death is final but we are still lost. Prayers help lots.
I NEEDED TO READ THIS ALL THE TIMES THAT MY HEART WAS BROKEN AND THN I WOULD NOT HAVE FELT SO ALONE. I HAVE A NEW ONE NOW AND AM SCARED TO DEATH OF ANYMORE PAIN.
I feel for your lost love but writing about it is good medicine.

I like this one a lot- needs a real "cry in the beer" type singer and delivery- a plaintiff wail. Good stuff, Victoria. Jerry Andrews- Long Gone Love- a similar theme-

The well expressed cries of a lonely heart. Most sensitive people will relate to the poignancy of this well crafted verse because, as an old song says, "Into each life/some rain must fall...."
This poem could easily be adapted as lyrics for a very lovely song. Wish I were a composer. Go find one, Victoria.
I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.
