First one man and then another
Wishing it were you
Is how I spend my lonely nights
Since you said we're through
Staring at the same four walls
Your picture on each one
Reminding me of the times we shared
While we were still as one
The times we've shared
The things we've done
Seem now to be in vain
I wake up every night
Calling out your name
What went wrong how did we fail
I really loved you so
I guess that's the price one pays
For giving up their soul

So much heartbreak to go through sad but true. Feelings are smashed and looking forward is hard to do. Lost love isn't fun and can we replace it. Wait and see, maybe.
What a lovely piece of lyrical poignancy! I agree with Lynn Barry; you just have to get together with a song writer...Your poem would make a wonderful song.
