Written for my first grand daughter a new link to the world and to myself

I love the tiny precious thing.
How innocence mirrors her face
In such sweet reflection
Of a young child's inner grace.

And what love, truth and trust prevail
Eyes that meet yours in prayer?
For little joys; in anxious fears
Wipe transient tears there!

How shell laugh, lift her little arms
Around your neck in their embrace
And with childlike charm print a kiss
Shedding loves light on your face.

So, guide her through the tender years,
Pour fresh hope along the way:
Fix purpose and understanding
For new dawns of another day.

Now sleepy head is tucked in bed
And moonlight streams her tiny form,
Thank God for precious joys to share
Of a love that’s newly born
