Living here in upper Wisconsin has allowed me two things....the appreciation of loved ones.....and a space heater!...I've gotten back into my drawing, and hope that music will follow. Been a long rest..and harder work..this thing called...life! k
Cold winds blow in the wintertime north
Icy fingers clutch at your breath
Trees stand frigid as the snow flurries down
While the landscape lies quiet as death
Asleep, for a season, while temperatures drop
Awaiting the springs sunlit thaw
Gripped by the slumber of sub-zero days
As the sharp teeth of night deeply gnaw
Serene, from the window, a blanket of snow
With the shrub'ry frosted and white
A crackeling fire abating the nip
Lends the majik that's there, within sight
The tea kettle whistles it's finishing tune
Then poured into cups left to brew
While the world's locked outside, for the long winters chill
I'll settle down, warm, next to you
Yes...I'll settle down, warm, next to you
