This is a short story -like poem about Wilbur the pig in the actual children story "Charlottes Web" by E. B. White

“Looking Into Charlotte’s Web”



Sunlight filtering it’s way through an old country barn, where a girls fondest memories
were harnessed and spun…

Where a pig, cow and goose were all caught off guard by the comings and goings

Of a rats caboose..

Why her father had even swore as a runt he would die and the poor girl had cried to

Papa…… Don’t let him die !

So he let the poor pig live on slop and grunts and even a few buttermilk lumps…. And maybe

He would wind up some good “bacon one day”

But one small voice from overhead heard the small pigs plea and designed a idea

That would follow his needs.. He would become “Some Pig”

So as night did fall and all were asleep .. And no one to utter a peep not even the grumpy

Old sheep, She did weave he magic to and fro and with the passing of time .. It did grow

A most beautiful work of art in the corner of the barn opening for all to see.. As dew

Caught its glow…… it was almost white as snow ! It read “Some Pig”

People and towns folk came for miles around and could only sit , stand and look

Bemused like a clown ! And Wilbur just smiled as he winked at Miss Charlotte
