They've brought some back in coffins
victims battered by this war
and doubtless 'fore the end is nigh
there'll be a dozen more.
Young hearts forever stilled by death,
young souls sent on their way,
coffins draped by flags, red, white and blue,
in Britain and the USA.
Their lives were sacrificed to save
those who they did not know,
yet in the midst of controversy
they knew they had to go.
To free a people chained by terror,
ruled by an evil hand,
that they might live in freedom
in that, their promised land.
So from the land of shining sea,
of mountains lush and green,
of golden fields of amber grain
an exodus was seen.
And across a mighty ocean,
in God's green and pleasant land,
where once there was an Empire,
another exodus began.
And from them both, the troops went out
and in the desert sand
they rallied to free the people
from the dictator's mighty hand.
Where mankind was first created
and the Garden of Eden stood,
in the battles that were fought there
evil battled good.
The sand and mighty Euphrates
bear witness to the fight,
and in them runs the blood of those
who died for what is right.
So as they bring them home in coffins
draped in red, white and blue,
remember that their cause was just
and that their hearts were true .
They gave the ultimate sacrifice
as only a hero can,
their blood shed in a foreign land
to save their fellow man.
Nobody ever wants war
yet sometimes we take a stand
because to just do nothing
would be wrong for our fellow man.
So wave your flags and honour
those who fight this war afar
from family and friends, for truly
heroes they all are.
And whether you think this war is right
or whether you think it wrong,
remember what they suffer
to free the Iraqi throng.
For those who came home in coffins,
draped with flags, red, white and blue,
your names are marked in history,
we will not forget YOU.

Thank you for this. I must agree that whether we think that war is right or wrong we should not forget those who paid the supreme price.
Thank you again
