As I sit and look at my life today, of all to come and all passed away,
I see the roads I have each time chosen, the mistakes I've made by the countless dozen.
Each step I took with all I knew, to fill a void without a clue. Desperately trying to be understood, doing the very best that I could.
Each new stumble, further I fell, deeper into the hole of living hell.
Destruction to all for whom I cared, not the heart of one on my path spared.
One day landing upon bruised, tired knees, I looked up and said "Lord help me please."
He heard my cries and dried my tears, He gave me comfort from my fears.
He lifted me up, saying "dust your knees." He cut loose the chains and set me free. My way was clear, and my will strong, yet again I traded right for wrong.
Soon I had fallen and again lost my way, but as I sit and reflect on this today,
He held me still when I chose to leave, through all that's transpired I've come to believe...
That no matter thew way that I choose to go, there's nothing and no one who will fill up that hole. Only my Father who's not once left my side, only my Father who's counted each tear that I've cried.
Jayne, I could cry with you, reading this. God bless you and keep you in His love and in His path. You are so right, that He has not left your side and so right that He knows each tear. Not only does He know them, He keeps them. You are precious to Him.
