I feel her cold air
upon this gray October day
moving across the plain
tumultuous clouds roll
snow feathers float
gently in autumns fall
the ice is near
sighs winter, returning home
the snow melts
surrendering to mother earth
her warmth slows icy domain
her soil thirsts
as I seek the sun
blue-gray sky appears
over rocky horizon
purple peaks under hazy white
huge flakes create silhouettes
asymmetric serifs in the sky
I know the ice is near
harbingers of winter float the sea
the ice cometh
she will reclaim her earthly domain
snow covered glaciers and crags
grassy meadows, canyons and glades
all become frozen tundra
her heart beats coldly beneath
melting oceans of retreat
she shall remain in her polar axis
so evocative and felt, Dale. Makes me want to curl up with your atmospheric words under a pile of warm leaves and sleep til warmer comes. Another cinematic write that is easily seen as well as perceived. xx
