My Special Birthday

Last month I spent my birthday

with my daughter in LA.

Oh what a wonderful day.

We did things she knows I like to do.

Spending time around water and nature too.

We went to GriffithPark and walked along the creek

It is one of my favorite places to see.

We went up to the Observatory

and saw the displays of things in the Universe.

It seemed a great experience for both of us.

Outside, the grounds was a beautiful site

as hummingbirds flew over our heads in a fluttery flight.

Back and forth and all above us.

They seemed to be making a special good luck fuss.

One came so close and settled on a bush of red flowers.

He sat and looked at me

as he made bird noises for almost an hour.

I know he was communicating with me.

Though I couldn’t understand his words I knew

he was saying it was great happiness I would see.

It was an awesome sight and experience for Vicki and me,

And it made us happy as can be.

Later we went to dinner and had a great meal.

We ate good food till we had our fill.

Then as a nice surprise the restaurant gave me

my birthday treat of a brownie cake

with Happy Birthday written on the plate.

I shared it with Vicki like we always share

I am really glad she took me there.

I love the birthday gift she gave to me,

It was just what I wanted

and she didn’t know that you see.

She is intuitive just like me.

It is a good fortune cat and I am into that.

It is a birthday I won’t forget,

because it is one of my very best yet.
