Riding The Carousel Of Pain

My Mother and Sister's legacy for me was a childhood of misery and pain. Mother is dead but my sister has taken up the gauntlet and still tries to inflict a daily dose of pain.

The legecy handed to me from my mother and sister, festering rage and festering pain,
Memories of their cruelty is an endless carousel ride, that drives me insane.
My never ending sorrow haunts each night, robbing me of sleep,
Knowing I will never be free, makes me weep.
Cruelty gift-wrapped as love, was handed to this so-called ungrateful child,
A child they lamed, forcing me to crawl each of life's miles.
Affection and smiles were ordered, to be delivered on demand,
Rendered with a tug on the marionette's strings, by the Puppet Master's hand.
The puppet was forced to obey every single command,
I was never allowed to be real or take a stand.
They broke my wings, then demanded me to take to the sky,
Damaged and wounded, I crashed and burned, was never able to fly.
They rendered me ill-equipped and totally unprepared for life,
Now I daily reap the harvest of pain, sorrow and strife.
While my remaining tormentor sleeps soundly in her bed,
Covered with the quilt of entitlement and self-righteousness with denial and self-justification pillowing her head.
She will never acknowledge the pain she's caused me or admit the wrong she's done,
For in her demented mine, she is Sister Christen, the chosen one!

SC, I'm sorry for your pain.....people who abuse were also abused and it will continue until that abuser seeks the help of a therapist. I know,I too was abused.
Always,
Deborah

Get yourself some Holy Water, splash some on your head and say, "Get Theee behind me Yee demons of my mind".
Hope it works. I am still having nightmares over one such as that, except She pledged her eternal love for me before God and witnesses. How easily they forget. I feel your pain, Sissy.

I don't know why family members are the most able to inflic the hardest blows and leave the deepest scars for the heck of it upon someone not expecting it but needing a small quantity of love instead.

SC no one has the right to abuse another espically a child who is scarred for life. You are a good person and there's a family out there waiting to have you as part of there's. I know it is hard to forgive and forget for that can never happen when there is so much hurt and pain. I believe you best erase them without any harsh words or wishes and move on with your life. You are too kind of a person to play their game and your sister was created by your Mother. Such a shame that even she doesn't see who she has become. Take care SC your wings are there for no one can remove the wings of an Angel.

Newfie Hugs are on the way, Rose

So uniquely worded. Well Dear Comfort, your wings will mend and your spirit will soar as you heal in Gods light. Each day love and the beauty in your mind will bring you peace and comfort...as your writings clear out your heart! Tell the tormentors you forgive them, will pray for them, smile at em...then walk away! You will confuse them and they might look at themselves and maybe realize their actions!
Sunshine to you, CarolHawks
