Aleister Crowley once wrote that a great writer should be able to see the world as others see it – to see the Vatican as through the eyes of the pope for instance. With that in mind, I have penned this work in attempt to express the sorrow of a Christian saint as he views the world we have corrupted, and the faithlessness of those for whom Christ made His great sacrifice. I hope my Christian friends – indeed, all Christians on this site, enjoy it. This is my gift to you in your season of joy…Merry Christmas.

 As I have loved you

Through the fog of bloodied brow

From wounded flesh upon the tree

Flows the endless sea of love

Flows  the love of Christ for thee

So frail the flesh, so pure the light

That graced the world of man

No darkness e’er can dim or blight

Redemption at his hand

Oh! Children of these withered lands

Your sins nail Jesus to the tree

The evil deeds done at your hands

Undo His sacrifice for thee

Whilst die the children for your greed

Whilst suffer creatures small and great

The wounds of Christ gape wide and bleed

He pays the price of human hate

So gentle was the holy child

He ne’er his hand did raise in ire

And yet his flock in fury wild

Do kill and rape to sate desire

We mock dear Jesus Christ, our Lord

The love of God we shun

With bombs and gas and knife and cord

We glorify the gun

But on this season of our Lord

I pray thee to recall

The plea made by the Son of Man

Before He gave his all

Love each other urged our Lord

As I have e’er loved thee

Live and die not by the sword

In love come unto me

Fantastic, Keith! I feel as though most people are more tolerant of others at Christmas. I just wish that feeling would carry throughout the year. There is much wrong in this world, but there's also much to be grateful for. Thank you for this one:) Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Absolutely powerful, and so bloody true, we keep on nailing him to the cross uninterupted, we keep on opening his wounds, but yet just like in his days, no one is listening, and the highpriests have taken the thirty Shekels of Silver. Eloquently said,
" Whilst die the children for your greed
Whilst suffer creatures small and great
The wounds of Christ gape wide and bleed
He pays the price,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"

Not better have I heard it said, by any, nothing has changed in two thousand years, we keep on sticking it to him, while the easy part that religion revolves around, is to constantly ask for his forgiveness, on well padded benches and with genuflections, You are with your thoughts and reflections, and an incredible poetic liturgy, in your heart an honest and true Christian, to bad there are so few followers of his true spirit.
I wish you a most Merry Christmas and lots of his Love!Jasmin Horst
