Thoughts meandering in my mind
So I go out for a short walk
I find I'm not walking alone
The Lord's here and He wants to talk

"Good morning, child," He says to me
"How are you this wonderful day?"
I answer, "Great, now that You're here
Happy, now that You've come my way"

We walk to the lake in silence
Knowing there is no need to speak
Jesus knew that I needed Him
To be with me while I am weak

We pause to gaze at the water
The waves gently lapping the sand
Then in that same instant I feel
The Lord reach out and take my hand

As I turn to look up at Him
A sense of calm comes over me
I see He's looking to Heaven
The place where I so long to be

 I feel a need to get back home
Yet by His side I long to stay
He knows what I'm thinking and says
"Go, I'm only a thought away"

Yes, my friends, that's the simple truth
God is only a thought away
As you rise with each new morning
I pray you have a Heaven sent day
