Lamplight story

He's got a friend
for every heartbeat

he keeps that heart
inside a fridge

he sold his sorrow
for a profit

and never spent time
in jail

he plays the banjo
at your funeral

he sways around
when the wind blows west

they found him
talking to a tilting statue

they say his eyes
were scorching red

for all I know he
could have made the papers

but nobody would have
noticed that

and the man under
the oak tree
rings a bell
full of flies.

He sounds like an eccentric...a fascinating character. Great poem.
