It can form from childhood memories,
A teenage incident, long term addictions,
Even accumulated through adult experiences and interactions.
It’s called emotional baggage,
And it’s much heavier than a piece of metal luggage.
With a strong desire to trade it in,
You find there is no right of return,
Making your mind spin.
Either deflecting or reflecting,
Eventually coming to the conclusion about something...
We are all perfectly, imperfect!
Admit it:
Denying it will only allow it to surface when you least expect it.
Accept it:
Toughen up and obtain your emotional strength, learning from it.
Own it:
Take ownership of your part in it.
Unpack it:
Lugging around excess weight will slow you down, remove the items and then let go of it.
While most of us try to hide them, we have our imperfections as you have just pointed out. I've been second-guessing what happened last Tuesday until I just read what you wrote. I think I'd better follow your advice and just accept it, rather than let it continue to weigh me down.
