Poem Artwork

Addictive it is
 this disrepair

for it requires
 a more intoxicating mending

We only break

 that which we can shatter

We unhinge

 what longs to be tightened

As it was slowly loosened

long ago

We numb the insatiate fear

With that which we can taste

Quickly
Urgently

Blurring our interior vision
Imprisoning our possibility

When do we cease giving toward

 that which we adore

and begin giving away
 to that which we abhor

I love the language and layers of meaning. One to read and read again.

This poem is worthy of much more than a single reading; and the photo is most complementary to the verses. Thank you for sharing this offering, Deborah. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I found this to be an intriguing piece...especially when combined with the art....the art is softly sensual...erotic even...the verse raggedly sharp...especially that beautiful and dynamic ending couplet.
The layers of meaning here are varied, which I find to be a benchmark for good verse.
It leaves questions in the mind.
Splendid work Deborah...Welcome to the den. I will be looking forward to more of your work.
