Sickened by the requisite hours in therapy Cupping the coal of grief in burned hands as if the soul has already turned to ash Festering Burning Odors masked by white lies Strangers pick at emotional scars because it’s good to bleed Interrupting the healing process leaving infection underneath No teachers No mentors To scratch the surface No muses No heroes Our legacy discharged Itch for reprieve Insatiate torment Regret and blame Rise like yeast Spoils of life Taken for granted Listen Learn Silence the salve Quite Hear yourself Chrysalis burst
