I look in the mirror and I don’t like who I see. I’m not the person I thought I would be. Is age the culprit, motherhood, wifehood or stress of not being me? I don’t know me.
I live each day trying to find my way but I feel lost in the maze of who I’m supposed to be, I can’t find me.
I’m stuck on a leash and I can’t get away; I probably wouldn’t even if I could but I don’t know.
My life controls me and I want the control but taking it may mean I lose what I can’t get back. Fear keeps me here, love makes it strong. So I look in the mirror and I don’t like what I see but who I have chosen to be. I pretend to be strong.
