This brought tears to my eyes. My heart goes out to your friend and her loss. I helped raise my sisters three children, before I got married and even after then they would all come and spend as much time during the summer and Christmas holidays as they could. Then after they were all grown with children of their own, I started receaving visits from their children. One of the most precious things my niephew, Chuckey, ever said to me was said to his fiance before they married. She didn't understand why he wanted to go spend his vacation out of state with this aunt of his that she didn't know. He said, "But you don't understand, Marilyn is not just my aunt. She is like a mom, a sister and a best friend all rolled up into one" This is one of my heart treasures.
