Hey, I had a problem once, but it was me doing something I didn't need to do, like being asked to change my email address on a pop up or something. "Technology, bah, humbug!" The guy (one of them in the techy zone of AD) called me from overseas even, and walked me through a solution.

So what if I had to sacrifice my authorsden mailbox and use yahoo mail. Well, can't say it's a bad thing. Fewer mailboxes to remember now.

Give 'em a holler and just don't holler in their ear, even though it's frustration. I know from experience.

Dear Jim. Thank you for commenting on my poem "Getting Old." In the past, I've been experiencing some wierd problems with my email message board, and I reported it, and now it's some what fine. Sometimes it's a bit off, but, that's computers for yah. I really hope you stay, because in every other writing site you sign up for, they tend to go out of business, taking your writings with them. That's what happened to me four months ago. Every where you go, there's always going to be something. We are all authors, writing excellent stories, and poems for the most inportant people, our readers, our fans. We can't let our fans down, the show must go on. Talk to Matt, and work it out, at least you've given it a shot.

My first visit to you.. BUT... I, too, and many other's have done battle with squeeky "clean" Mr. Miller. He may never "get it!" He has been running around taking money from people's accounts without their knowledge, me included. I wrote a poem about censorship a few months back that was directed at the den... of course Matt denied any wrongdoing. What have we got here, a Stalinesque regime? You paid money.. he keeps it and throws you out? Excuse me??? This is going toooooooooo far! katy.

It always sucks to find out freedom is never free.

Hello awesome Jim,
First, I do humbly thank you for your recent comments on my poetic editorial entitled, "A Position is Still a Position." Having said that, allow me to move forward with words of sorrow and regret here. I do wholeheartedly concur with all of the loyal supporters of AD in their sadness over the possibility of you leaving. Although I have not read your work like some of the other awesome AD members, I am grateful that I get to meet you now, in this moment. Please don't go. If ever multi-voices need to heard it's now. Take a position and stand on it. I recognize your integrity and your nobel pride, please use them both and get to the heart of the matter. Query them directly, be direct and ask why this is happening. I have always found that open discourse is the best remedy in understanding one another. Find out[with certainty] before you move on. I have just found you; please don't go.

Voices of Africa is very needful and I must applaud you for your hard work on that site. Jim, censorship is a blight…a stain on the hands of those who choose to tell us what we should think or say.

But again…please stay…keep pushing on. I also was slandered and nothing was done....even though the person was known. But I stayed because I believed in my writing. I beleieve in yours too.

I admire your poetry…and your verve.

They did not censor by poems, what they did do was fix my message board so that messages I sent to others were redirected back there, and they kept blocking my password so I couldn't sign it. Someone, however, did put the password back a few times, and has done it again so I can get in. That always started when I was telling people about the anti genocide pages I have, Voices For Africa. I had also complained because someone had slandered me, and they refused to do anything about it. They just started harrassing me, and I am sick of it. Life is too short to bother with a site that plays that kind of games. Thanks for the kind comments from those of you who have posted here. I will miss the people here, many of them at any rate, even if I won't miss the politics of this place.

I am confused. I thought this was a forum for sharing poetry that is "tasteful." Certainly all that I have ever read from you Jim is not only "tasteful" but highly refined. I have experienced some problems with email messages not being posted but other than that, I have not noticed anything "amiss." However I would urge you not to be discouraged and just "quit" because we would be hugely deprived at the Den. There is some very bad poetry posted at the Den and I do mean VERY BAD. I just looked at your poems, it say's CENSORED BY AUTHORS DEN, I THOUGH AMERICA WAS OF FREE SPEACH, bar abuse. Will this be censored too, flipping blimey any of your work I've read, is fine fettle, how come some really bad ones can stay. And I'm talking life threats, just read my poem reviews a texas in the court of king Arthur, and that's a gentle comment, if you've said worse which I doubt, why is he still here. It's the longest comment, on it..

Never did I get censored and I posted one more,
Called, Paranoia, similar in scope,

Hello JIM OH NO have you written the team.. Oh and besure to use the fast help for Gold i didnt and was scolded..{{{SMILES}} i have never seen anything you two wrote that should ever be censored... On the round table there was a discussion that this had happened to several and many paid still were told to pay up its due so it may be a glitch i hope so for your both well known and respected Writers and this is a shame. Im writing now... I do not blame ya for being a bit tiffed on this one....

Bravo, Jim for posting this. It needs to be said publicly. My incoming emails for the most part are also being deleted. Can't prove if it's a glitch or not, but I suspect it's not. There is a great deal of game-playing by management on this website. If there are problems, censorship is not the answer. The problems should be dealt with directly and not ignored.

I concur, Jim. At the very least, you should get your money back.

I had the experience of someone posting an inappropriate comment on one of my poems... I decided to be professional about it, so I contacted AuthorsDen and asked that they contact the author, asking that it be removed. (Surely, I could simply delete it, but I feel as though it should be addressed, rather than ignored.) I received a message from Matt with a copy of the message to the author telling him it was inappropriate and asked that he remove it. Two days later, I contacted AD again, advising that it had not been removed. (And I know the author had been to the Den during that particular day, as I received a message on my message board from the author.) Matt responded saying that he would pursue it until it is removed. That was exactly a month ago. The comment is still there. 'Guess I'll remove it. I suppose not all rules apply to all authors.

As an aside? I never received the monetary funds for "winning" the poetry contest either.
