Open the door and look casually down
Till reality trades smile for frown
No more brown eyes there to greet
Or sinuous body entangling feet
Thirteen short years, give or take
My Aggpup's life to make
Too soon to be so suddenly pared
No new memories ever to be shared
Just old ones happy now to recall
Wagging tail chasing thrown ball
Dash of white on coat of black
Non stop energy there and back
Far too quick you went downhill
Too much pain to even lay still
Hold you close, unashamedly weep
Hurting recedes before eternal sleep
This pierced my heart. Having losing my beloved Jack last year, and Bob the year before, I feel your pain. They were 16, and people say that's a long time for a cat to live, it doesn't make the pain lessen. I am so sorry for your loss.
