I sit by the window
Watching the sun
As it rises
And a new day
Has begun
Last night is gone
To never return
But today
Is a blank canvass
Waiting to see
What colors are
In store for me
Hues of red and golds and blues
Just waiting to jump
Onto this canvass
So I can give them to you
