I wrote this when I was 17; I realized my boyfriend and one of my best friends had been involved while we were together, and that's why he had punked out . . . .

I found something today, a note that she wrote

before I thought I'd ever want to rip out her throat

and this note that she wrote, before I lost hope

I will silently rip it and throw it away

that note's presence goes at me like a dart

silently ripping away at my heart

and I smile a fake smile, I play a sad song

once I was happy, but it didn't last long

I'm not peppy enough to get any attention

and if I do it seems it's with such bad intention

so I'll pretend it doesn't bother me

and try not the let the tears start

as my pain is silently ripping away at my heart

but, alas, my tears run, and dripping to the floor

is all the sadness kept inside of me I can't take anymore

dripping and bleeding onto the floor
