Just to See What He Will Say

Children have a different view of their world.

There's a little green frog


in the pond in mummy's garden.


I think I'll go and catch him


Just to see what he will say.


But Mummy says to leave him


Where he's wet and happy swimming.


I suppose he's happy staying


In the pond all through the day.

There's a little elf a'sleeping


By the pond in Mummy's garden.


I think I'll go and wake her


Just to see what she will say.


But mummy says to leave her


Where she's happy curled up, sleeping


I suppose so, but it's silly


To waste a sunny day.


 


Grandpa is a'snoring


In a chair in mummy's garden.


I think I' go and wake him,


Just to see what he will say.


But mummy says to leave him


Where he's happy, sleeping, dreaming.


I suppose he's happy snoring


The holidays away.

This is such a charming little poem! I can easily imagine it becoming a children's story book, with delightful pictures throughout.

This is a beautiful write I'll keep this one
so I may read it to my granddaughters

The child's curiousity knows no bounds...delightful! I think your Mummy's right...leave them be. Grampa, especially...they usually get sore when you disturb them when a'snoring. :) Enjoyed this, thank you!
