In a Summer Garden
A pond that's dry but rustles with leaves.
A brave young lizard that does as it pleased.
Never knowing the watching eye
So he suns himself, till by and by
A pounce,a shuffle, a tiny scuffle
And Smooch is left with a tail to tackle.
As he marches inside with a proud air.
'See what I've bought you to show that I care.'
And I laugh and fondle that proud furry head.
And get rid of the tail when he goes to bed.
I like the way you first introduced the lizard and then continued with the drama!
