It's hard to see your loved ones growing older.
To see the wrinkles creep across their skin.
It's hard to see them fumble and then falter
As they wonder where the daylight hours have been.
To see the once bright eyes grow dimmer, faded.
And the strength flow out from once strong healthy bones,
And the sadness of the gaps and friends gone missing
Their youth and loved ones now gone from their homes.
It's hard to let go of long held wonder
Of dreams, desires, that never really came.
But we are blessed to know a brighter time is coming
When all sadness, sickness even death will then be gone.
For age is but a passing shadow
And eternity will strengthen those who come
And family and friends will be united
Beneath a bright and brilliant sun.
Absolutely beautiful. The first part reminds me of Mom in her last days. The last stanza is filled with hope.
Mary
When all sadness, sickness even death will then be gone!
Very well done! Amen!
