Sometimes there is a forever..

Lonely woman sitting in a hall
Awaiting a visitor or perhaps a phone call
But neither will happen again today
Time to go back to your room the nurse will say.

Was a time when life didn't pass her by
Recalling the happier times the woman gently sighs
Fifty years with the same sweet man
That always felt like when life really began

Days so full with tenderness and love
Never even one night apart until his call from above
Her face shows the lines of laughter sweet
Remembering his twinkling eyes her greatest treat

His eyes, how they danced and his smile did shine

Now everyday is just one more to wait
Until they are rejoined at heaven's gate
Smiling to herself as she hears him say

Now, forever is their's to keep
As he gently wipes the tears she softly weeps.
He tenderly kisses her on the cheek
Eternal love comes to those that seek.
