Some days you just get tired of fighting the good fight...but then...there's always tomorrow.
Sweet circle of darkness
so ever compelling
today I am buying
whatever you’re selling…
a misery complete
with the cold falling tears
of a soul full of sorrow
alone in its fears.
Today I will march
in your army of gloom
feeling nothing but empty
a rose that won’t bloom…
Trampled down, beaten back
through the trenches I go
still surviving the battle
with miles to go.
Left alone to my reasons
for fighting this fight
when the sinners keep winning
no justice in sight…
Just today I will rest
hide away from aggression
with my dear old friend,
my companion, depression.
Tomorrow however
I’ll change my direction
there won’t come a day
that comes close to perfection…
There is no way I’ll cave
or give up in my hope
‘till the wrongs become righted
Or hang from a rope.
I am constantly fighting depression, but anxiety I cannot abide either. Right now trying to work on anxiety and not let it get me down. Doing really well on it without the meds to control or help it. I just decided to do it with God's help and on my own and it seems to be working. I need to keep positive at most times.

Sometimes you just need to take a day... it's not giving in... it's just giving back to yourself... letting the breath of air out you've been holding in for so long... and getting ready to do it all again the next day...
Fine write, Melissa. Many can relate! Must have been the pre-eclipse blues--I was there just yesterday, also. Fortunately the clouds lift, things balance out, certain occurences restore your faith in life and yourself. I think we have the tendency to be strong and push back tears until a damn builds up that needs release...
Must have been something in the air, I was in this same place
last night! But woke up this morning and "changed" my direction!

THIS is damn good writing. I also loved the underlying subject, i.e., that good will triumph eventually. I have to believe that.
