Resolution

My resolution becomes irresolution

When I think of certain things,

Like chocolate and pretzels

And candy-apple rings.

My determination becomes indetermination

In the middle of the night,

When I dream of donuts and yeast rolls,

Each rising crisp and light.

My decision becomes indecision

When I pass an ice-cream shop

And imagine sundaes with whipped cream

And cherries on the top.

Yet, my repulsion quells the impulsion

Ever to have such treats

When I glance down and realize

I can’t even see my feet.

I know it is really hard to resist those treats you like and even dream about. I am really trying hard as of the start of the NY to be on a diet too. Along with you, I want some goodies too. But resisting is being strong and working on our health for our own sakes.

I've made a resolution, to not make one. Otherwise, I seem to set myself up for failure. Diets don't work. Only eating in moderation and trying to eat healthy will. :) Too bad it's too expensive to eat healthy ... oh, well. LOL

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I try to watch what I eat; am not always successful, but I try to stay away from the sweets. Once in a while, a piece of pumpkin pie or a bit of ice cream does sound good, though. :) I try to eat healthy; not always successful, but the effort is there! :) (I stay away from greasy food, or if I can't, I try to blot off as much as the grease as I can before it goes into my mouth. Nothing worse than burgers or fries swimming in grease; that's NASTY!!) And who CARES how much you weigh? I don't; I love you just as you are! (And I'm no skinny minnie; I weigh over 150 pounds! I'm a little butterball!)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Who cares about feet anyway, you are sure making me hungry. Hmmmmm, homemade brownies and a big ole helping of ice cream sound awfully good right about now....

Be always safe,
Karen

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
