If you live with a chronic disorder and sometimes feel like giving up then you will resonate with every word here. Specially dedicated to people who live with CFS.

Just For Today

Just for today

I need to be lifted high above the too many tasks to be complete
I need to be above the level that makes me see clearly All the limitations my body hands me
I need to soar into the presence of a God
Who has the power to make all things right
Yet feel satisfied at His selection of what to ‘make right’ now
And what to leave for a while longer.

Just for today
I want not to feel my shoulders burn from Lactic Acid bubbling between my muscle fibers
I want not to feel the pressure of confusion and forgetfulness
I want not to ask you “what was I just saying?”
I want not to slow your pace by my deliberate and mincing steps
I want not to be misunderstood for my changing temperament
I want not to wonder when and how this will all end.

Just for today
I wish to hear the music of my own laughter and the echo of a friend’s
I wish to recall with animation the little girl who still lives inside me.
I wish to celebrate the autonomous woman I aspire to be
I wish to remember only the positive people who have crossed my way
I wish to feel the satisfaction and appreciation of a job well done
I wish to be surrounded by unconditional, unreserved love
I wish to feel the awesome assurance of my every present God and Friend!

Patrice,

I live with chronic pain and Fibromyalgia; they do everything in their power to wear me down (and out). My saying is: just for today, I will live with these conditions, and not be lived by them. :) Of course, limiting factors determine the success of the day. LOL Well penned inspiration, thank you. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

And welcome to Author's Den, you're among friends. :)

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
