The agony of being forced apart from the one you love.
Today’
the wind is gossiping in the reeds
shuttling air with early Spring temps
urban gray is in command of the sky
a moody day transcribing messages
two weeks ago I packed my heart away
for a journey of forced absence I rue
days collect into weeks as time is arrested
her voice exists only in my memory
I’ll reach for her a hundred times
she’ll disappear into the dreams of night
no fairy tale romance no passion
kissing the air offers no pleasures
her delicate features begin to blur
as time drags and absconds with her aroma
our goodbye kisses gentle touches and adieu
now we await the fickle ways of opportunity
days are not all days some are voids
they dismissed our need to close distance
meet to exchange inane joy and laughter
resurrect our romance and passion
The ache is palpable, dear Jon Michael, and you have given expression to both the listlessness that accompanies such voids of time and experience as well as to the desolation of such a loss. Heartfelt and very touching work, bless you. xx

Truly a moving and meaningful poetic offering the theme of which I can completely relate to. Love can be painful and society's "rules" often are the cause. Thank you, Jon. Love and peace to you, friend.
The heartbreak of true love always surprises and astounds us, Jon. The thing is, very few "true loves" can make it through the day to day living. Toilet seat left up. Curlers and assorted makeup items strewn here and there. Sex has become routine, not spontaneous and exciting as before. Eh . . . There is something about a marriage ceremony that tends to jinx things. I lived with a woman, happily, fifteen years before we finally tied the knot. Three years later we were divorced. Just saying . . . Take it on the chin, shake it off and live your life without the constant turmoil you are putting yourself in.
