I recall with poignant clarity how your love
flooded the deep valley of my spirit
to one of being completely wanted and
brought a growth of worth to my soul
that had long ago abandoned any hope
of ever experiencing
monuments flourished as never before
my self-respect returned I once again knew
what it means to be admired and appreciated
the spiritual monuments defining
what life and love are all about
grew as my spirit shared every shred
of love I held with you
and I felt the inrush of yours
it was again possible for me
to shower a woman with all that I am
a loving wounded warrior
so desperate to find a worthy mate
to give all of me to forever
and it was you, it is you
and I am fighting with all my might
to forever keep the valley fertile
the monuments strong
