Smoke and mirrors

Iam sick of being shafted in the name of a free market.

Leave out the smoke and mirrors

You have built a house of cards

The stock market politics

Your board room tubs of lard

Dollars and cents at any expense

You have to have it all

Those greedy stubby fingers

Are protected from the fall

Every day when I wake up

You tell me to bow and pray

At your shares which up a million bucks

While I go to work for pay

Your act is just an illusion

Your hand is faster than my eye

You tell me how good I have it

Your truth is just a lie

In your world of have and have nots

You dare hold the nots to blame

It’s impossible to share the equity

Or the economy would become, inflamed

You rape and pillage Mother Earth

You steal and plunder at will

Politicians and bureaucrats

Lining up for, their fill

There is discontent growing across the lands

A sleeping giant awakes

Your smoke and mirrors will no longer hide you

We want more than crumbs off the cake.

From the land of the milked and honeyed here’s a few political faux pas and a bit of attitude exposed to the harsh light of a Canadian who actually has their own opinion.
