This morning, long before bad habits are discarded, I was given inspiration to begin earlier than usual to toss concentrating on negative memories. This led to my latest poem. Hope everyone enjoys...
MEMORIES
I have almost wore the soles off my feet
Reproducing over and over, memories of defeat
Suddenly, this morning, it occurred amazingly to me
This was why negative memories were all I could see
Today, it's Thanksgiving Day 2003, think I will begin
Concentrating daily… remembering only good memories again
All of my life, I've written and used my poetry to heal
These words were pasted on my heart for my sores to seal
The consequence of this new reflection will give birth
To a blossoming of love, happiness and mirth
Maybe then, my loved ones and friends will begin to know
That I'm ready to change and even more willing to grow
Then if the new habit becomes contagious very fast
I will be able to shed the bad memories at last
