Sleepless! On this dreadfully eternal night
Of endless minutes—lingering on!
My sorrow grows, each crawling second,
Each lagging moment that we’re apart.
Restless and lost in a stifling frenzy,
I run—thoughtlessly— onto the street.
Trying to find in the sky’s darkness,
The luminescence of her brown eyes.
And as the tide of hopelessness,
Begins to drown my laden spirit,
I see the moon, break through the clouds,
And on its glow… I find her face!
Upon my lips I feel a smile,
And then I come to realize…
She's also sleepless—like I am!
This dreadful night, 'cause we're apart.
