I had a crush on Sally at that time.
All I knew is her hair was yellow.
Intrigued by it nothing else really mattered.
Sally's hair scrolled accross her head,
and draped about her shoulders
like a Weeping Willow tree.
The sun reflected her yellow hair,
like a mirror blinded me with awe!
To me she was beautiful and when she
would say hi to me in school,
my heart would melt like butter.
After school I would walk Sally home.
A woodpecker pecking his drum roll on the tree,
sparrows in clusters would eat and sing.
Life seem to be finger painted with rainbows,
yellows, oranges, blues, greens, and reds.
The allure of rose bushes and fragrances
of white lilies and tigers lilies surrounded us,
and I was a lad of seven in this jungle of beauty.
Aw, Michael, this is so sweet. What a thrill it was for you at seven, to walk home with your yellow-haired friend. I think, while you were with her, everything was more beautiful to you as you walked together!
