Is love eternal or does it stop when that love one dies?
Perhaps that answer depends on you and I!
When you lose a love one,
does love stop there?
Do our lives go back to normal,
whatever that new normal may be!
No maybe for you but not for them.
Presently they have a hole in their soul,
an ocean wide tear in their heart!
Only patience time and love can mend,
perhaps soon maybe never-
will be there my friend?
Again does love stop here?
You must let them know,
without question how much you love them,
need them hug kiss and squeeze'um.
Now!
Love never dies even though the loved one might. They leave behind a hole in your heart that never ends, only to be added to as others leave this earth.
What a wonderful poem with a wake-up call of a message! Yes, brother Michael, we all need to take time to show our love while we still can. Time is short and it's better to take time to live and love than squabble over hate and regrets. Love is more powerful because God is true unconditional agape love, the best love to give and to get! Amen!
I agree that love doesn't stop just because one is rejected for making an offer of love. However, if someone persists, especially on days like St. Valentine's Day to offer unrequited love, it can be considered to be harassment.
I think the old adage, "It's better to have loved and lost, then to have not loved at all," is a better approach to the problem. If others don't love you, love yourself, love nature, and treat everyone and everything with kindness and your love will be returned.
