Somewhere deep within the mire
She reached out to the sunlight
A midnight moon ensued
It wasn't until the last drop of hope bled
That she roused, at least she wasn't dead.
The choice was entirely hers
She could lose the battle of wills
And submerge
Or she could choose to live
Once again...
Her call.
Then she died.
Then something incredible happened
Her eyes opened
In a new dimension
Yet still earthly bound
A tranquil and subtle wind
Encircled her being
And blew life in her once again
She awoke from her coma
Not oblitherated but renewed
With energy and new hope
For a future that was as bright as the star
She gazed from afar
In her deepest, darkest sleep
She turned and cried
I'm alive!
