Act 1:
A vampire virus declares war on
His blood pump
Sucking youth
Leaving the child fragile and thin
Dressed in black shades
Hiding dark thoughts
Waging what seems an endless
Eighteen-year battle.
Intermission: popcorn, soda, candy, ice cream—WOWS!
Act 2:
Healed, the child grew manly
Flying to far off lands
Fighting his nation's wars.
The combat nights long
Collaborating with death.
Praying for survival to the only God he knows.
Intermission: a six-pack of beer and peanuts—liquid, sudsy relief.
Act 3:
Back home, the booze-ravaged veteran marries,
And the curtain goes up on horror.
To escape, he considers eating
A Hemingway hollow point.
Deciding on life,
He moves into a hermit's cave
With a two-year lease.
Intermission: wine, cocktails, Scotch on the Rocks—sigh.
"Last Act", the announcer says,
"Come on down and teach thirty-years American style."
A moldy torture chamber appears
With underage two legged viruses
Kicking and screaming
From bell to bell fearing
The grim reaper is closing in.
After the final curtain call,
A fruit smoothie, or a bowl of applesauce and prunes
Before bedtime.
The lesson learned.
When one drama ends,
A new cast appears on stage,
A new production.
Will it be a comedy this time?
Will there be more laughter?
Power writing! No holding back, the drama unfolds, act after cruel vivid act with snacks and treats in between for comfort and irony. At your very best here. Kudos!

(((HUGS))) and love, karla.
Laugh, and I for one, will laugh with you.
Another fantastic write in the Lofthouse manner.
