Did You Hear Me Cry?

This is for those persons who think they can drink and drive.

         DID YOU HEAR ME CRY?

Did you hear me cry when you flew on down the road?

Was there reason to assume it would be a heavy load?

I heard and saw the tires as they screeched along my way

But, alas, I did not know they were meant as daggers sway.

Twisted, torn, I tried to speak but words all garbled few

My senses shattered, body numb, I knew not what to do.

I felt the spirit rise, transcend to heights unknown

I was there and then I knew…I was simply all alone.

Eyes gathered round me, some blues, grays and green

Masses hugged and kissed me and told me what was seen.

A tragic thing, so young…to be swept into the moor

But, then again, I didn't choose this path to Heaven's door.

Days passed, and when again I saw my body near

Lying in the satin bed, all clean with those who care.

Flowers sweetly wafted round my chosen final place

Then I looked into the eyes of the man who placed me there.

What was in your heart on my final judgment day?

I brought you no harm nor even stepped your way.

You took away my childhood dreams; I'll not do them anymore.

I won't see my friends and family when they close the final door.

I heard you had too much to drink on my fateful day

Did your problems harbor so much pain…I just got in the way?

What is so important when you drink the devils brew?

I wish you had killed yourself…but it was me, not you!

My eyes will follow you in every step you take

Each drink you place upon your lips will burn with each mistake.

I am reaching out to touch you now, with a mournful sigh

I am asking you this question, did you hear me cry?

Stabbing Pencey Boudreaux by Mary Lynn Plaisance

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
