Only those abused

Speaks for itself, the horrors of abuse.

 

Only those abused
 
Only those abused, giving pure love and trust
Deceived by would be friends seeking only lust
 
Only those abused, know of uncontrolled fear
When an adult interferes year after year
 
Only those abused, who live their nightmare life
Once a happy child, now lives in troubled strife
 
Only those abused, carry deep within their memory
Images that torture and thoughts becoming deadly
 
Only those abused, know the trauma of inadequacy
Think of a razor finding that pumping artery
 
Only those abused, know the right time to tell
Their story of torment. Their story of hell.

Being abused in almost any manner possible along with fighting my own battle with the blade, this spoke to me and touched my heart. Sometimes when you feel most alone, you find that someone else out there in the world who shares your pain and haunting memories. Thank you

This is such a powerful poem!Having been sexually abused as a child it speaks volumes to me. Wonderful message.I would add - there is hope!With help you can have a full and joyful life. You can even forgive the people who abused you. But it takes much inner work, and for me it was my faith.Thank you for writing this.
