Being Whispered words Might this be part of being old The wife softly asked Together now The love I feel has little to do with sex My wife's arm about my shoulder Urging me closer I know I’m here Here with you The husband said Feel though within a dream Having no thought of sex And all to do with… The thought edging upon my mind “Being”, the husband said Being with you Holding you Loving you In a trance A hypnotic trance The wife said A trance that holds me here In the only place I want to be The only place I was meant to be Eyes closing Never again to open ©August 10, 2010 / Mark M Lichterman

Yes, the difference between being and not being is very simple. At our age, to have a woman hug you tight and feel the warmth of her body and the sweetness of her breath against your face is enough encouragement to go on another day enjoying that part of womanhood until as you have so poignantly stated�
