Austin Texas lost one of it's dearest poets, John Berry. This is his tribute,a man that always wore yellow.
Big Yellow Hat

Loading up the car today.
Going on a field trip.
I am going to see the man
In big Yellow Hat.
I felt just like Curious George
All wound up with anticipation.
Through the doors I run.
Wow, There he stood.
A giant of a man with a Big Yellow Hat.
He told us stories
of the places he had been
And the stories of his life.
I finally got to meet the man
With the Big Yellow Hat.

This is a very nice tribute to John Berry. A poets words will live on FOREVER in books and now on the internet. Learn from John Berry and move on. I used to live in Austin, Texas for over 4 years. I was an Air Force SGT serving at Bergstrom AFB. It's a beautiful town filled with talented and uplifting people. No doubt, John Berry was one of them. Amen

John Berry made a statement, both with his persona and his poetry. He is very fortunate to have you and David remember him. So many poets go beyond this life without any recognition.
He will be missed. I always remember his yellow berret and his yellow car. Why he always had that very Berry smile and yellow sunshine personality.
We are family in the Austin Poet Community and John has blessed Austin for many decades. In Austin we have a diverse group from the young to the old, and each one of us has been blessed by John Berry.
Thom, Wendy and I did get to see him and give our blessing before soon after the heavens turned Berry Yellow.
