Another poem from the series of Library of Congress "audio series". Friends and family requested personalized poems. And like an idiot I agreed. I possessed an innate ability to assess their current situation and reactions. The result was an honest piece of work. And the reception upon presentation, was about as warm as dry ice. So turned my attention to my own experiences. Here is one of the "signature" poems written about others. I look forward to your feedback.
Michael with his carnival smile
And carousel eyes
Sells his tickets of love by the roll
With a barker’s enthusiastic cry
Waiting for the elusive prize to fill his empty soul
Michael is caught on a roller coaster
Of emotional ups and downs
Never knowing what he truly wants
So he’ll play the painted clown
And the days spin by
Like cotton candy on a cone
The seasons fly
And Michael wanders off alone
Michael has been too long at the fair again
And is lost in the “hall of mirrors”
Each reflecting too many images
Of all his pain and fears
And the weeks fall
Like colored balloons to the ground
And the years call
His name from the merry-go-round
Michael is running out of tickets
And has been on all the rides
He waits by the water, as the lights dim
then misses the last boat on the tide
That could take him home to the
Twisted roots of reason and despair
But Michael will continue going
To every amusement park affair
And the barkers cry
He has passed every stall and store
And the gamers lied
All along they had kept the score
Michael doesn’t go to the fair much now
Some say he is keeping to his own
He stays at home most nights now
Just waiting by a silent telephone

Hi Terry,
Another good poem about a "forgotten soul!" This is very well written and it makes you feel like you can share in the sadness of this forgotten soul, that is still searching for what is lost. Life holds so many "twists and turns" and you always seem to capture them with your poems. I hope that the "roller coaster" slows down enough, for you to get on and have the time of your life.
A Very Good Poem, as usual, Linda T.
Very nice indeed - I've been trying to get a feel for captivating that elusive male who is always drinking from the fountain and seeking to stave off his thirst, but never accepts a drink in earnest forever speaking of his sorrows then departing to the fountain once again.
High school student Kevin Borden has a secret and his name is Louis Lannegan. He also has an overbearing mother. A tale of coming out in the shadow of parents and friends. Award winning novella.
'Coruscated Confabulations' is a collection of stories and experiences, most of which took place in prior decades. They are taken from or based upon real events, with a certain admixture of fictional embellishments.

You've done that very well.
Thank you, ~Donna.
Very interesting and well written poem. It's sounds like Michael life has quite a twist.
