My dear parents,
I am now grown.
You have now shown
(and I can now see)
the depth of love
you have for me.
I see that my disguise
of being sublimely wise
holds no candle
to your complex beliefs.
You are the guides I chose,
all those decades ago
when all that is above
was incased in all that is below.
I can see your smiles
after your frowns.
Our ups are not ups
without downs.
It has been a long time
since I provided a rhyme
of how well you have treated me
despite my perception crimes.
With one look on your face,
I hold my head down in disgrace
for having twisted your terms.
My misunderstanding reaffirms
that no one's wiser
than those who complete
my understanding of who I am
and what I can beat.
Your judgment is sound,
and in my experiences I've found,
even with my dependence profound,
that you are proud of all I can be.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
