The mountaintop with never-ending ceiling,
And the distant horizon, its only seam,
I realize I am merely a tiny granule of sand
In the eternal vastness of God’s creation.
Peering o’er an ancient, craggy overlook to observe
The terra firma and flowing waters beneath me,
I realize the earth is merely a tiny granule of sand
In the unending vastness of God’s creation.
Lying in the dense, cool mountain grasses,
Looking upward, reaching, stretching to the heavens
To the unexplored vastness only God knows and sees,
I realize the miniscule nature of everything, above and below.
The ubiquitous nature of our Creator exceeds all,
Surpasses the earth, the heavens and all of mankind,
For He is greater than all things and all beings;
Everything else is merely a tiny granule of sand.
