I do not often "do" rhyming poetry. This is my attempt to convey my theme with rhyming couplets. 😎

Poem Artwork

 Don’t Be Sorry, Lauri...

Don’t be sorry, Lauri

Lauri, don’t you worry.

Read the message in the bottle,

I’m coming to you at full throttle.

Take the message from the pigeon,

On the stream, from the widgeon.

In the sky, behold the swallow,

In your sorrow, do not wallow.

I’m coming to you, Lauri;

Sailing in my dory.

I am sending you a dove,

As a symbol of my love.

The sea is a little wild,

A bit like an untrained child.

I can almost see our home,

Through the waves’ frothy sea foam.

Your candle shines a bright light,

In this dark and stormy night.

Never worry, Lauri;

We will live our story.

I will hold you in my arms,

Gladly succumb to your charms.

I loved this deep and lovely poem but I was/am a little puzzled by a couple of the comments, (perhaps I have missed something previously?)

This is a lovely poem and I refuse to add "in spite of its rhyming!" There's nothing at all wrong with rhyming except that sometimes it becomes trite, without a sense of true creativity.

YOUR poem is anything BUT trite and I loved it!

A beautifully rhymed poem, Reg. Reaching out to someone, perhaps a real soul, and encouraging her to leave her fears behind and join you across the distance created by oceans and thoughts.

I wish you luck with your entreaty to the lovely Lauri.
